The Riverhead community marked the 21st anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks with a candlelight walk and a remembrance service at the 9-11 Memorial Park on Sound Avenue.

“It’s always an emotional day, always very tough," said Bob Kelly of Reeves Park, retired NYC firefighter whose younger brother, also a city firefighter, was killed in the collapse of the South Tower.

Friday marks the 14th anniversary of the terror attacks that claimed more than 3,000 lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Local residents will gather at 6:30 p.m. Friday for a candlelight remembrance procession and ceremony.
