Vince Taldone, longtime FRNCA board member, has stepped down from the group's board of directors. He is moving to Manhattan, which offers a walkable community with ample public transit — important to Taldone, who is visually impaired and no longer able to drive.
Public transit advocate blasts plan to move bus stop from railroad station; officials now looking at other options
Vince Taldone, a public transit advocate and board member of the Five Towns Rural Transit advocacy group, called plans to move the Railroad Avenue bus stop to Cedar Street “a poor transit planning decision” that is “nonsensical and ultimately cruel.”
The legislature also approved $4 million in bonding to fund the construction project, which officials and residents hail as a crucial component of revitalization in the Riverside hamlet.
