Jamesport firefighters doused a vehicle fire this morning at Tuthills Lane and North Apollo Driver in Aquebogue.
Upon arrival in response to the 11:14 a.m. alarm, firefighters found the vehicle, a 1980s model Ford Bronco fully involved in flames on the southbound shoulder of Tuthills Lane just south of North Apollo Drive.
Firefighters responded with two engines and the heavy rescue support truck and quickly brought the fire under control, while fire police closed the road, the fire department said in a press release.
Jamesport Fire Chief Sean McCabe said the volunteers good turnout enabled them to bring the fire under control and open the road back up quickly.
