Long Island Winterfest Jazz on the Vine got off to a great start this weekend, with Judy Carmichael performing Friday evening and more than a dozen separate concerts taking place across the North Fork this weekend. The concerts drew hundreds of visitors to the region, filling local wineries’ tasting rooms and driving business to area restaurants and shops. (See our video report below.)

The festival, now in its third season, offers free jazz performances taking place each weekend between Feb. 12 and March 21. It is a joint project of the East End Arts Council, the Long Island Wine Council, Long Island Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs.
