All 22 Riverhead businesses checked during a police compliance operation targeting underage vape and tobacco sales were found in compliance, Riverhead Town Police said.
The checks were conducted Wednesday, May 6, by the Riverhead Police Department COPE Division in cooperation with the Riverhead Community Awareness Program, police said.
The operation targeted the sale of vape and tobacco products to people under the age of 21 at 22 retail establishments in Riverhead Town.
The following locations were checked during the compliance operation, according to Riverhead police:
- Riverhead Stationary, 407 East Main Street
- BP Gas, 4670 Route 25
- Valero, 5904 Route 25A
- Wading River Smoke Shop, 6278 Route 25A
- Speedway, 6305 Route 25A
- Sunoco, 4129 Middle Country Road
- Mobil, 3705 Middle Country Road
- Gulf, 1879 Old Country Road
- One Stop Smoke Shop, 1698 Old Country Road
- Bola Mobil, 1575 Old Country Road
- Valero, 1356 Old Country Road
- Empire Gas, 1050 Osborn Avenue
- Gotham Smoke, 1085 Old Country Road
- Speedway, 870 Old Country Road
- Bapa Vapor & Smoke, 763 Old Country Road
- Empire Gas, 640 Old Country Road
- 7-Eleven, 162 Old Country Road (DMV Plaza)
- American Gas, 1427 Main Road
- Tobacco King, 1451 Main Road
