Riverhead High School senior Taylor Burgess, soprano, has been selected to represent RHS in this year’s All State Mixed Choir. The choir will rehearse and perform during the NYSSMA Winter Conference, Dec. 5-8 in Rochester.
This is Taylor’s second year at All State; she will also attend the All County Music Festival. In addition, she participated in the New York State Summer School of the Arts – School of Choral Studies program. Congratulations, Taylor!
In addition, three students have been recognized as alternates to All State Ensembles: Noah Markewitz, alto saxophone; Amy Methven, violin; and Jessica Sisti, alto saxophone.
Thousands of students auditioned for this honor last spring at solo and ensemble festivals throughout New York State.
All County Music Festival selections
The following students have been selected to participate in the 11th and 12th grade All Suffolk County Festival sponsored by NYSCAME and SCMEA: Taylor Burgess (soprano), Amy Methven (violin), and Jessica Sisti (alto saxophone.) The concert will take place on Friday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Hauppauge High School.
