A man was robbed at gunpoint while walking down Griffing Avenue early Saturday morning, police say.

The victim, a Hispanic male, told police he was walking northbound on the east side of Griffing Avenue at about 3 a.m. when he was approached by four unknown men, according to police. The robbers stopped the victim just north of 140 Griffing Avenue, between West Main and Second streets. They punched the victim several times in the body, but the victim was uninjured from the incident, according to police.

The men stole $400 cash before leaving the scene, according to police reports.

The investigation had been turned over to the detective division and is ongoing, police said.
