Southampton Town fire marshals are investigating the cause of a fast-moving blaze that destroyed a vacant home on Flanders Boulevard in Flanders last night.
The house at 57 Flanders Boulevard was fully involved in flames when Flanders volunteer firefighters were called to the scene Wednesday night shortly after 9:30, Flanders Fire Chief Joseph Pettit said. (See video below.)
Flanders firefighters contained the fire and brought in under control within about 45 minutes to an hour, Pettit said. No one was injured in the incident, he said.
Flanders called in a rapid intervention team from Riverhead Fire Department. Hampton Bays Fire Department stood by at Flanders FD headquarters, Pettit said.
The house at 57 Flanders Boulevard is owned by Busil Properties, LLC of Westhampton Beach.
