The National Weather Service is now calling for 10 to 18 inches of snow to fall across Long Island during tomorrow’s snowstorm.
The latest blizzard warning, issued at 3:50 p.m., forecasts 10 to 18 inches of snow with 55 mile per hour wind gusts possible across Long Island and New York City.
The National Weather Service has also shifted the timing of the storm a bit earlier, with a blizzard warning in effect at midnight tonight instead of 4 a.m. tomorrow.
Visibility will reach one quarter of a mile or less at times during the storm, with whiteout conditions likely. Powerful winds are likely to down tree limbs and power lines, according to the forecast. Travel will be “extremely dangerous” and should be avoided.
