Daniel Gennaro, left, and Smaantha R. Cotroneo face multiple drug charges after a police raid on their Wading River home March 10.

A Wading River couple was arrested on drug charges yesterday in an East End Drug Task Force raid on their Northside Road home.

Riverhead Town Police said task force officers seized heroin, marijuana, packaging materials and a scale in the raid.

Daniel W. Gennaro, 25, and his wife Samantha R. Cotroneo, 24, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (intent to sell), a class B felony, criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a class C felony, two counts of criminally use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, according to a police press release issued last night.

“The search warrant was secured after a short-term investigation prompted by multiple neighborhood complaints about high traffic and suspected drug sales activity in the area,” police said.

The Riverhead Town Police COPE unit and Suffolk County Police Emergency Services and K-9 Units assisted in serving the warrant, police said.

Gennaro and Cotroneo were each held on $100,000 cash bail, according to the release.
