The downed power line burns on the ground on Middle Road west of Roanoke Avenue this morning.

A downed primary line on Middle Road has knocked out power to more 1,155 customers in Riverhead this morning and closed the road to traffic between Harrison and Roanoke avenues.

PSEG-Long Island says a crew has been dispatched to the scene and it expects power to be restored by 11:15 a.m. Riverhead Fire Department and Riverhead Town Police responded.

Another outage in Riverhead in the vicinity of Osborn Avenue north of County Road 58 left another nearly 300 customers without power. A PSEG crew is on scene and the utility company says the power should be restored to those customers by 10:15 this morning.

Traffic signals on Middle at Roanoke and Ostrander avenues are also dark.

PSEG is reporting more than 2,000 customers without power this morning across Long Island.
