Riverhead Town Police have announced a second burglary that occurred in the early morning hours today, this one at an auto parts store on West Main Street.
Police said they responded to an alarm at My Guy Auto Supply at 1556 W. Main St. at about 2:15 a.m. today to find the front west side glass door smashed in. Someone had gained entry and removed an unknown amount of merchandise, police said in a press release.
There was another commercial burglary about an hour earlier, according to a prior police report. At about 1 a.m. someone smashed through the glass front door of Malvese Equipment on Route 58 and removed a portable generator, police said in a press release issued this morning.
Detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to call 631-727-4500 ext. 328.
