Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate a man they say stole a Milwaukee power tool battery from Home Depot in Riverhead on Aug. 5.

A Riverhead man is facing a felony grand larceny charge in connection with the alleged theft of a van from a house on Middle Road, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release Sunday morning.

The man charged by Riverhead Town Police with burglarizing Lowe’s Home Improvement Center on Route 58 Thanksgiving night has been indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury on felony burglary and grand larceny charges.

The pilot of a small plane sustained minor injuries when the plane flipped over as the pilot attempted to land at a private airstrip on Sound Avenue in Riverhead this morning, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release.

Another motorist approached the vehicle, stopped in a roadway for an extended period, to see if the driver needed assistance and found that she “appeared to be semi-conscious, very disoriented with slurred speech.” He was able to reach inside the Toyota, put the vehicle in park, turn off the ignition and remove the keys, police said.

Police said a man and a woman entered a home on Main Road in Aquebogue Friday afternoon and stole cash and a rifle.

Riverhead Police are investigating the death of a 56-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a submerged vehicle off Iron Pier Beach in Riverhead this morning.
