Being a caretaker for someone with dementia can be an exhausting struggle. Peconic Bay Medical Center and the Alzheimer’s Association have teamed up to present a free program to help families caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.
There will be two opportunities to attend the workshop. The evening program takes place at PBMC’s Entenmann campus located at 4 West Second Street in Riverhead on Tuesday, April 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A complimentary light dinner will be served. Another presentation will take place at the same location on May 1 from 12 to 2 p.m. A complimentary light lunch will be served at that event.
The agenda will cover effective communication strategies and understanding and responding to dementia-related behaviors. It is free and open to all members of the community but registration is required.
Free on-site respite care is available. Space is limited. First come, first served.
