The Riverhead Free Library will offer a program to guide dementia patient caregivers to understand legal and financial issues the family may face.

This free event provides an opportunity for residents and professionals to come together to ask questions about Alzheimer's disease, share personal experiences and learn about resources and communicate ideas that can bolster services to support families in their communities.

Over the next seven months, the Alzheimer's Association will sponsor a free caregiver support group at Peconic Bay Medical Center.

The Long Island chapter of the Alzheimer's Association has opened a satellite office in Riverhead to support those living with or caring for persons with dementia.
