There will be a community blood drive on Dec. 28 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Riverhead Fire Department headquarters building on Roanoke Ave. Walk-ins are welcome.
All donors will be in a raffle to win a gift certificate for the Suffolk Theater, an $80 value. The drawing will be held after the blood drive. Every whole blood donor will be entered once in the drawing. Automated red cell donors will be entered twice.
Eligibility criteria for blood donation:
• Bring ID with signature or photo.
• Minimum weight 110 lbs.
• Age 16 – 75 (Sixteen-year-olds must have parental permission. Age 76 and over need a doctor’s note.)
• Eat well (low fat) and drink fluids
• No tattoos for past 12 months
