Northeast Stage will present outdoor performances of Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure” beginning July 27.

Shakespeare’s dark comedy about the fate of Claudio, arrested by Lord Angelo, the temporary ruler of Vienna, will be directed by Colin Palmer and produced by Amie Sponza, with original music by James Yaiullo, and publicity by Sarah Storjohann.

Performances are free. Opening night is Saturday, July 27, at 7 p.m. at East End Arts in Riverhead. Additional performances will take place Tuesday, July 30, at 7 p.m. at Shorefront Park in Patchogue, Thursday, Aug. 1, at Train Park, (corner of Routes 112 and 347) in Port Jefferson and Friday-Sunday, Aug. 2-4 at 7 p.m. at Mitchell Park in Greenport (Rain location: Greenport High School). American Sign Language interpreters will be available at the July 30 performance in Patchogue and Aug. 4 in Greenport. Bring a chair or blanket.
