Tonight’s Alive on 25 street festival has been canceled due to the weather forecast this evening.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms late today into this evening may produce wind gusts approaching severe limits and locally heavy rainfall in the Riverhead area.

There are two more Alive on 25 street festivals scheduled this summer, on Aug. 12 and Aug. 19, Business Improvement District Executive Director Kristy Verity said in a phone interview today.

This is the second rainout for the popular street festival this summer.
