Downtown Riverhead’s Halloween themed pub crawl, aptly named “Crawloween”, will take place at several Riverhead restaurants and craft beverage locations tomorrow night.
Starting at 6 p.m, “Crawlers” check in at the North Fork Brewing Company, where they will start to participate in a digital scavenger hunt that will take them to three other craft beverage locations — Montauk Distilling, Tradewinds Brewing Company and Peconic County Brewing Company — with exclusive drink menus and deals, including $5 craft beer pours. Checking into all four locations will earn you raffle entries to win one of ten $50 E-Gift Cards to venues across downtown Riverhead.
The Whiskey Axual, a food truck whose menu features whiskey infused food, will be on site at North Fork Brewing Company.
When the crawl ends at 9 p.m., after-parties begin at several local eateries. Diggers Ales ‘N Eats will host a live band; Riverwalk Bar and Grille and Montauk Distilling Company will both host DJs; and Craft’d will have food and drink specials. Crawlers who check into after-party locations or upload screenshots of social media posts will gain crawlers additional raffle entries.
“We are ecstatic for Riverhead to offer events like this that appeal to young adults, highlighting the small craft beverage businesses in the downtown area,” said Michelle Demetillo, the hospitality and community manager of North Fork Brewing Company. “We hope to see Riverhead continue its growth and popularity.”
General admission for the event is $14.99 in advance through the downtown Riverhead website or $19.99 in-person/day of the event. Crawlers without a costume can pay an optional $14.99 for a glowing LED mask or glasses. Ticket proceeds will go towards donations to Saturday’s breast cancer awareness walk.
“Riverhead has grown into the craft-capital of the East End and we’re super excited to begin trailblazing the farm-to-glass culture by defining our region, hosting events and diversifying the local scene,” said Kristy Verity, the Business Improvement District Management Association’s executive director.
Verity said the event is a precursor to the BID’s new “Riverhead Ale Trail” project launching early next year.
“Manifesting the arts, inclusivity and cultural programming into the Ale-Trail is a driving force of the project. We want to get people excited for what’s to come; the craft spirit crawls are a peek of what we’re brewing for 2022,” Verity said.
