John M. Lademann of Cutchogue died on Oct. 31, 2021 at his home. He was 88 years old.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1933 in Mineola to Edward A. Lademann Sr. and Mildred Mau. He graduated from Southold High School in 1952.
He worked as an electrician and became a master electrician for 16 years. He worked at Suffolk County Consumer Affairs Electrical Division for 23 years and then retired. He was a member of the Cutchogue Fire Department for 62 years and was an ex-chief and commissioner. He was also member and past president of the North Fork Volunteer Fireman’s Association, a member of Southold Town Fire Chiefs Council and was a member for over 50 years of the Suffolk County Electrical Contractor Association, which he served as a former president and member of the board of directors. His hobbies included boating, fishing and coaching Little League baseball.
He was predeceased by his siblings. Gloria, Edward Jr. and Dorothy, his wife Joan and son Michael. He is survived by his children, John (Kathy), Patricia Mudd (Stephen), William (Denise) and Thomas (Sherri), daughter-in-law Maureen, grandchildren Erin, Nicole Helf (John), Stephen Mudd (Jen), Brienne Stein (Dan), Brendan, Jason (Shawn), Casey Morrison (Sam), Haley, Jeffrey, Ryan and Tyler (Kyleen) and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, Nov. 5 from 3 to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue Squad, 260 New Suffolk Rd., Cutchogue, NY 11935.
