A Flanders man has been charged with murder in the shooting death of a man at his home in Moriches early Friday morning.
Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives arrested Michael Gilbert, 28, of 222 Riverside Avenue, with Murder in the Second Degree in connection with the shooting death of Tyrell Durham, 37, of 5219 Tall Oaks Circle in Moriches early Friday morning, according to a police press release issued this afternoon.
Police said Durham was shot outside his home at approximately 1 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26.
Durham was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said in a press release Saturday.
Gilbert will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and arraigned tomorrow at First District Court in Central Islip, according to the report.
