The Great Kindness Challenge was led by the peacemakers, a group of fourth grade students from Phillips Avenue Elementary School and Roanoke Avenue Elementary School who exemplify kindness, support to others and leadership.

As part of the Great Kindness Challenge they wrote thank-you cards to each of the teachers in the schools. They also encouraged other students to get involved and were inspired by the kindness wall in the cafeteria.

The group — facilitated by the school social worker — empowers the students to act as role models for other students and spread the message of kindness and no bullying. This school year the peacemakers made anti bullying posters for the school and read the book “The Juice Box Bully” to each class.
