Rodney D. Anderson of Aquebogue died May 3, 2022 at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. He was 51 years old.

He was born on April 17, 1971 in Riverhead, the son of Richard and Faye (Urban) Anderson.

He graduated from Riverhead High School in 1989 and from Delaware Valley College in Pennsylvania in 1993.

He worked at Anderson Farms in Riverhead and was the owner of Nomad Nurseries.

He was a member of the Suffolk County Planning Commission and the Town of Riverhead Farmland Preservation Committee. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Long Island Farm Bureau and of the New York State Farm Bureau. He was a member of the American Conifer Society and of the National Young Farmer Committee of the American Farm Bureau. He attended St. Isidore R.C. Church.

He is survived by his parents; by his brothers, Robert of Manorville, Ronald of Aquebogue, Richard Jr. of Wading River, his sister Cheryl Kornafel of Riverhead; and by his significant other Denise Speizio of Ridge.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Isidore Church in Riverhead. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to L.I. Farm Bureau, the American Conifer Society or East End Hospice.
