Riverhead Town Police are investigating the deaths of two men in separate incidents over the past few days at two downtown locations.

Police said Gregory Mack, 37, of Riverhead, formerly of North Babylon, was found deceased Friday afternoon inside a tent encampment in a wooded area described by police as south of 733 East Main Street, which is a storefront in the shopping plaza opposite Riverhead Town Hall.

Police were called at approximately 1:36 p.m. on Feb. 10 to investigate an unconscious and unresponsive male at that location. Responding officers determined the man was deceased.

No foul play is suspected, but the investigation remains ongoing, police said in a press release this afternoon.

Riverhead Police are also investigating the death of 44-year-old Alberto N. Munoz Noj of Riverhead, formerly of Gautemala, who was found outside the Express Deli & Café at 303 Osborn Avenue early Tuesday when employees arrived to open the business at approximately 3:32 p.m., according to a second press release issued today.

Munoz was seated against an exterior wall of the building, police said. Responding officers determined he was unconscious, was not breathing and had no pulse. Police commenced CPR and Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance responded to transport the man, with CPR in progress, to Peconic Bay Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Riverhead Police detectives were called to investigate. No foul play is suspected at this time but the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information about the circumstances that may have contributed to the death of either man is asked to contact the Riverhead Police Department at (631)727-4500. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
