Southampton Town Police invite the community to a “National Night Out” event at Red Creek Park in Hampton Bays Aug. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m.
The event offers residents a chance to meet local police officers while enjoying food, games, raffles, a bounce house and face-painting. Police will also provide child seat checks during the event.
Southampton Village Police officers, New York State Troopers and representatives of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office will also be on hand to meet community members.
National Night Out is observed annually on the first Tuesday in August. This night promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer. It shines a spotlight on community police programs, increasing connections between those who serve and their neighborhoods through the programs they provide, Southampton Town Police said in a press release.
