Suffolk County Legislature to hold committee meetings in Riverside this week

Committee meetings of the Suffolk County Legislature will be held this week in the Maxine Y. Postal Auditorium in the Evans K. Griffing County Center in Riverside. 

The legislative committees will consider proposed legislation prior to action by the full legislature at the April 8 general meeting scheduled to take place at 9:30 a.m. in the county center in Riverside.

Committee agendas include proposals to: continue protection of water quality, including land and equipment purchases; enhance public safety; authorize appointments of 21 members to the Suffolk County Water Quality Restoration Board of Trustees; appropriate funds for Brownfields testing and county infrastructure improvements; alter ferry rates for Fire Island Water Taxi, LLC; authorize execution of a five-year contract agreement with the Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association; and presentations from Calverton National Cemetery, the Suffolk FRES Commissioner, and the Teen Pregnancy Advisory Board.
