Mary F. Palmisano of Calverton, formerly of Wayne, New Jersey, died May 9, 2026. She was 106 years old.
Born June 3, 1919, in Italy, she was the daughter of Michael and Concetta (Coviello) Di Ninno. She attended Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. She worked as a seamstress in the Bronx and was a member of the seamstress union. Her hobbies included reading, cooking and baking.
She was predeceased by her husbands, William Formosa, in 1963, and Rocco Palmisano, in 1980.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Leon) Gaudiosi of Calverton; her son, William (Doris) of Wayne, New Jersey; and by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Wednesday, May 13, from 3 to 7 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 13, at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place Thursday, May 14, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
Memorial donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association or the American Diabetes Association.
