Marie Jeanne Downs of Riverhead died Aug. 16, 2026. She was 81 years old.
Born and raised in Riverhead, she was the daughter of Ernest D. Downs and Patricia McKinnon Downs. She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1963.
She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Donlon (John), Kathleen Fabrykewicz (Robert) and Elizabeth Downs.
The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Greenport. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Greenport.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Westhampton Beach.
