Riverhead officials issued a weather and travel advisory Sunday evening as the National Weather Service extended coastal flooding advisories for the area.
The advisory warns of minor coastal flooding in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline, with “additional rounds of coastal flooding” possible with the high tide cycles through 2 p.m. Monday, according to the release.
Officials urged residents not to drive through flooded roadways. In an emergency, dial 911. Anyone in need of assistance due to flooding can contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500.
High tide times for Riverhead Monday: 1:23 a.m. and 1:40 p.m.
