Main Street will be closed to traffic from 2 to 11 p.m. between Griffing and Ostrander Avenues for the Alive on 25 street festival today in downtown Riverhead. Portions of Peconic and Roanoke avenues will also be closed.

Alive on 25, downtown Riverhead’s free summer street festival, is ready for a delayed launch tonight after a washout two weeks ago — and event organizers are hoping the weather will be more cooperative this time around.

The next scheduled downtown street festival is slated for July 27. Tonight's event will likely be moved to the Aug. 31 rain date.

There’s a big party planned in downtown Riverhead Thursday evening as the second season of the popular Alive on 25 street festival kicks off with food, music, art and family fun.

Alive on 25 will take place on the Thursdays of July 13, July 27, August 10 and August 24, with a rain date of August 31.

Diane Tucci is expected to be named executive director of the Riverhead BID Management Association this evening.

The final "Alive on 25" street festival of the summer takes place tomorrow along Main Street in Riverhead. Live music, dancing in the streets, lots of food served by downtown Riverhead's restaurants, local craft beer and wine, artists, street vendors and a classic car show.
