Island Harvest food distribution to take place Friday afternoon at Stotzky Park
The Island Harvest food distribution, hosted by the Town of Riverhead at Stotzky Park, will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday. The food bank will distribute 10 pallets of nonperishable and perishable foods.

Phillips Avenue School opens district’s first in-school food pantry, serves 71 people on first evening
The pantry is a joint effort of the school and the Island Harvest food bank, serving a student population where more than 80 percent of the children are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch under federal guidelines.
