Residents can help make the holiday special for local families in need by donating unwrapped toys, gifts for children, and other items at East on Main in Mattituck for the restaurant’s “Stuff-the-Trailer” charity event for Kait’s Angels.

A fundraising effort by the local nonprofit Kait's Angels has made it possible for the family of Johanna Benthal to buy a special Surrey bike, giving the 20-year-old North Fork woman with physical disabilities the chance to safely exercise.

Buddy Benches are meant to provide a safe space for students who are feeling lonely or bullied, and they are being installed in schools across the North Fork.
