Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps kicked off National EMS Week with an open house at its headquarters yesterday, in an event that featured CPR and car seat safety instruction, ambulance tours, child ID registration, a Chinese auction, concert ticket giveaways, face-painting, games and activities and more. The community is invited to Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps headquarters tomorrow to meet EMTs, tour ambulances, and learn about emergency medical services. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its headquarters, 1111 Osborn Avenue, Riverhead.

RVAC is celebrating EMS Week with an open house at its Osborn Avenue headquarters Sunday, May 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entire community is invited to tour ambulances, learn about equipment used and receive training in hands-only CPR.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, founded in 1978 to provide emergency medical services for the Riverhead Ambulance District, which takes in more than 70 square miles, today answers more than 4,000 calls each year. The population of the town has grown by more than 65 percent since the corps was established.
