The Long Island Science Center has won a $1.12 million grant from New York State to help construct its new home on Main Street in Riverhead. 

Riverhead Town hopes to acquire property on the south side of East Main Street to connect the street to the riverfront.

The money will support the construction of a building for Children's Museum of the East End at Ludlam Park and the development of the Riverside Maritime Trail Park along the Peconic River.
