Sound Park Heights Civic Association

The Sound Park Heights Civic Association will host its annual candlelight walk and remembrance service Monday evening at the 9/11 Memorial Park on Sound Avenue and Lt. Thomas Kelly Memorial Road (Park Road), following a candlelight walk from Marine Street to the park, which will begin at 6 p.m.

There will be a candlelight procession from Marine Street in Reeves Park to the memorial beginning at 6:15 p.m., followed by a remembrance ceremony at the four-acre park dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

The Riverhead community of Reeves Park, which lost two firefighter residents in the 2001 World Trade Center attack, gathered for its annual memorial ceremony last night. Photos.
