Suffolk County United Veterans

The Riverhead American Legion Post #273 Ladies Auxiliary presented Target gift cards for Christmas to local veterans at the United Veterans Beacon House in Riverhead last week.

Celebrating veterans was the mission Tuesday evening for a group of vets and family members who gathered at Riverhead Free Library to share thoughts and memories of their military service.

The Riverhead Elks Lodge gifted Suffolk County United Veterans with $2,500 for renovations at its Maple Avenue home for vets. The money was raised with a sold out music event organized by David Wellan, a.k.a. Joe Hampton of Joe Hampton & the Kingpins.
