The owner of the Casa Rica Restaurant and Sports Bar on East Main Street was arrested today following an investigation by Riverhead police and the New York State Liquor Authority, according to Riverhead police.

Carlos Moreno-Bonilla, 30, of Centereach, is facing misdemeanor charges of unlawfully employing two unlicensed security guards at his restaurant and bar, police said.

Al M. Kirby, 42, of Coram and Joseph John Eaton III, 26, of Medford, were also arrested and charged with working as security guards without the license required by state law, police said.

Moreno-Bonilla was also issued four fire code summonses by the Riverhead Fire Marshal, according to police.

Riverhead police inspected the East Main Street establishment last Friday, May 28, with officers from the New York State Liquor Authority, according to a press release issued this afternoon by the Riverhead Town Police.

Moreno-Bonilla turned himself in to police headquarters on Friday (June 4), according to Police Chief David Hegermiller.
