Update- Dec. 12:  The two men arrested by Riverhead Police Wednesday were remanded to the Suffolk County jail in Riverside following their arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court. Delshawn Moore was held on $50,000 bail and George Trent was held on $10,000 bail, according to Riverhead Justice Court records. They are both due back in court Monday, Dec. 15. Riverhead Police arrested three people Wednesday on second-degree burglary charges after police caught them removing copper pipes, air duct work, an oil burner and hot water heater from a house at 22 Melene Avenue, according to a police press release.

Police said they responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at that address at 3:40 p.m. on Dec. 10 and found a woman waiting in a running pickup truck parked in the driveway. Officers interviewing the woman, who was seated at the wheel, discovered sections of copper water pipes in the bed of the truck, according to the press release. Then they observed two men in back of the home attempting to carry out the oil burner, hot water heater and air duct work from the basement, police said.

As a result of the water lines being cut, the basement area was filled with water and heavily damaged.  The home, currently vacant, was sold Nov. 25 to a Brooklyn-based company, Colby Ma LLC, for $69,990, according to Suffolk County land records.

Police arrested and charged with second degree burglary: Delshawn Moore, 35, of Riverhead, George Trent, 23, of Riverhead and Roshell Ross, 31, of Riverhead.

All three subjects were transported to Riverhead Police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment, police said.
