A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for early Monday morning on Long Island and NYC.
The advisory, in effect from 3 to 10 a.m. Monday, is for a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain.
Snow accumulation of up to one inch, along with around a trace of ice, will make travel hazardous, the weather service said.
Precipitation will develop late tonight with the heaviest of the wintry precipitation falling during the Monday morning commute, according to the weather service. Precipitation will change over to all rain late Monday morning, the forecast says.
