State police charged two people at Route 58 liquor stores for selling alcohol to underage patrons yesterday, New York State police announced in a press release.

Lynne A. Johnston, 61, of Hampton Bays, a clerk at Winemart at 757 Old Country Road, and Peter M. Maneri, 53, of East Moriches, the owner of Wine Depot at 1698 Old Country Road, were both charged with unlawful dealing with a child, according to the police press release.

Both were issued appearance tickets returnable at Riverhead Town Justice Court on a later date, police said.

Troopers found these other retail stores in compliance with the law during the undercover operation:

• 7-Eleven, 162 Old Country Road

• Empire Mini Mart, 640 Old Country Road

• Peconic Wine & Liquor, 184 Old Country Road

• Hess Mart, 870 Old Country Road

• 7-Eleven, 1050 Old Country Road

• Roanoke Plaza Liquors, 1096 Road

• Mobil Gas, 1575 Old Country Rd

• Citgo gas, Old Country Rd
