Denise Lucas, RMTAS and I would like to extend a thank you to all those who supported the Stock the Shelves event held on Dec. 7. The people of this town along with our neighbors just to our south, the Flanders/Northampton area, show they care.

With the help of all, four pick-up truckloads were delivered to the following food pantries; St. Isidore’s, Long Island Council of Churches, Open Arms Care Center and Joseph’s Storehouse. We were also able to deliver turkeys to Bread and More Inn.

A special shout-out to our friends who manned the drop off, Evelyn Blinn, Sue Tocci, Maryann Tague, Diane and Lindsay Reeves, JoAnn Waski, Raquel Dispenziere, Casey McDonald and John Hogan. Denise Gotimer, thanks for manning the door for us. Another thank you to Ziggy and the gang at Polish Hall, along with our friends at Riverhead Beverage for all your help. Oh, and let’s not forget our great entertainment, the Jan Hanna Band. You guys rock. Thanks for taking time out of your schedules and donating your great sound to help those in need.

Thank you to our local radio stations and press for helping get the word out in such a short time. Your help was truly appreciated.

Again, gratitude to all for giving this holiday season. Let’s continue to remember our food pantries and soup kitchens as they truly appreciate our support. These special people volunteer their time to keep food and nourishment available to our community.
