Two crashes on Doctors Path within 15 minutes of each other sent three people to area hospitals this evening.

A motorcyclist was injured when he lost control of his bike on Doctors Path in the vicinity of the apartment complex there around 6:30 p.m. He was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Riverhead Fire Department responded.2016_0712_mva_motorcycle_2

Moments later, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Doctors Path and Northville Turnpike. A Ford Fusion southband on Doctors Path was attempting to make a left turn onto Northville Turnpike when it collided with a Jeep that was northbound on Northville Turnpike, according to police. The drivers of the vehicles, both males, were taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by RVAC for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Doctors Path was closed from Reeves Avenue to Northville Turnpike due to the motorcycle crash and the landing zone for the helicopter.
