Peconic Bay Power Squadron will present “Mastering the Rules of the Road,” part of the USPS University seminar series, at 1 p.m. on April 14 at West Marine in Riverhead. This seminar simplifies the sometimes complex U.S. Inland Rules and International Rules for the recreational boater.
Through examples, attendees will discover how to avoid collisions in various situations, the differences between power and sailboat rules and the special rules for fishing vessels. This seminar is a starting point to prepare for the USCG license examination.
There is a $35 fee, which includes the “Mastering the Rules of the Road” booklet which contains the presentation information. A downloadable U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Rules and Regulations Handbook is also available as a supporting text.
