The month of November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Family Caregivers’ Month.
The Alzheimer’s Association will host a town hall-style meeting on Nov. 27 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Riverhead Senior Center to encourage an interactive discussion about the changing needs of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and the community response, said Kate Anastasia, MPA, program director for the Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter.
“Coming together to share ideas will help us find new areas for expanded program growth,” said Doug Davidson, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter. “It’s important to continue the conversation in order to better serve Long Islanders who are dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.”
