FRANCA and Riverside Rediscovered will hold a joint holiday party on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Crohan Community Center.

The theme for the party is ugly sweaters, so the more unpleasant your garment is, the better. Admission to the party is a new unwrapped toy or a gift from the Butterfly Effect’s project Amazon wishlist. All gifts collected will be distributed to families in need.

The holiday party this year is a potluck dinner, so if you would like to bring your favorite dish, dessert or an appetizer, please email Angela from Riverside Rediscovered to let her know. You do NOT have to bring a dish to get into the party.

The event includes refreshments, music and a Chinese Auction with plenty of prizes, like park tickets to Disney World, a lottery board, gift certificates for restaurants and delis, a free Christmas tree, dog sitting services, a car pass to the Riverhead Light Show, a dollhouse and many more.

According to Ron Fisher, president of FRANCA, the groups are still assembling gift baskets and would appreciate any contributions. “If you have something to donate, please let me know and we’ll arrange a pickup! We have many gift baskets, so often we can add a bunch of small things together to make a pretty terrific basket. Nothing is too small, so let me know!” Click here to reach Fisher by email.
