John H. Harte of Riverhead died March 2, 2019, at the Westhampton Care Center. He was 78.
He was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Newry, Northern Ireland to Henry and Christina Harte.
Harte worked as a mason for John Harte Mason Contractor.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Kelley); children, Mary Harte of Chicago and Anne (Dennis) Byrne of East Quogue; siblings Bridget Doyle, Teresa Reavey, William, and Seamus, all of Northern Ireland; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law; and four grandchildren: Ciara, Aine, Declan and Niamh. He was predeceased by his brother Edward.
A memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, March 13, from 10 to 11 a.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Mount. Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.
