Highway crews will be working on Peconic Bay Boulevard today between Laurel Lane and South Jamesport Avenue.

Crews will be repairing sections of the roadway along that stretch of the east-west thoroughfare, Riverhead Highway Superintendent George Woodson said.

The road will not be closed to traffic but lanes will be closed where crews are “milling and filling,” Woodson said. Traffic will be diverted around those areas.

“We’d like drivers to be aware that our crews our out there. Please slow down and use caution,” Woodson said.

The work will begin around 7:30 and will continue throughout the day, the highway superintendent said.
