The National Weather Service urges extra caution on local roads this morning as fog is reducing visibility and making travel difficult. Photo: Peter Blasl
Areas of fog, locally dense, are developing early this morning across Suffolk County, the National Weather Service said in a statement this morning.

Visibility may locally drop to one quarter of a mile or less early this morning, the weather service said.

Leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you, and make sure to use your low-beam headlights.

Visibilities will improve after 10 a.m., the weather service said.
