The Riverhead Holiday Light Show is back at the Long Island Sports Park in Calverton, featuring new displays and additions to expand on last year’s event, including a Santa’s Village at the Hotel Indigo.
The show opens on Friday, Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. and will run until Dec. 29. A 20-25 minute drive will take visitors through dozens of new displays, some up to 30 feet tall.
A new expansion to the event will be Santa’s Village at the Hotel Indigo. BOLD Media, the parent company of the event, partnered with Hotel Indigo and Bistro 72 to deliver the new addition.
The village will have free admission and children will have the opportunity to talk to Santa. Professional photos are available for purchase.
BOLD Media says it aims to make the show a new holiday tradition for Suffolk County and to increase business to local shops and restaurants in Riverhead.
Tickets for the light show can be purchased online for $23 or at the door for $25. The photos-with-Santa package is an additional $23.90.
“We are happy to bring back this Long Island tradition and hope everyone is excited to see our new displays,” said Amanda Sanderlin, the director of events at BOLD Media. “This holiday season we plan on bringing back tens of thousands of people into Riverhead, and while they’re here they will shop and dine throughout the town. Based on the response we saw last year, we can’t wait to show attendees new displays and offer photos with Santa.”
