High tide this evening in Riverhead is forecast to be about 2.5 feet above normal, causing flooding of one to two feet above ground level along the shore of the Peconic River in Riverhead, the National Weather Service said in a coastal flood advisory.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect from 5 p.m. till 11 p.m. today.

Additional rounds of minor coastal flooding are possible into this week, particularly during the afternoon/evening high tides for Monday and Tuesday, according to the weather service forecast.
Approximate time of high total tides in Riverhead are 8 p.m. today, 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the advisory.
